Movement and Motion!

The brief this year for first years is Movement and Motion. We were told to make mind maps to develop our idea. Here is my mind map!!

I decided to develop the idea of movement of cars, traffic in cities.

Here is the first page of my sketch book where I tried to experiment with this idea.....

I started researching different artists working with movement and ways they tried to express motion. I came across the work of Giacomo Balla and his work 'Dog on a leash'. Balla showed movement in his work by super imposing images, he doubled images to create the feeling of movement.

With the influence of this work I developed the idea of overlapping an image in order to create the sense of movement. By now I had moved on to the movement of people, here are some experimentation's of this technique...
