Sculpture Elective.

To Expand
To Pop ... Of course, I decided to work with bubbles...

Photos of bubbles.
After a while I added colour to the bubble mixture to make it a little more interesting!

I made a 3D piece from plastic bags to symbolize bubbles.
I blew some bubbles to try make them stick to the surface and make this experiment interesting.

I used the coloured bubble mix when blowing the bubbles, the colour began to stick to the surface creating a nice glowing effect.

My one day project finished piece and my wall at the end of the two weeks....

My wall ready to be assessed !

Print Elective !

The Brief for the print elective was defining your personal space. I chose my purse to be the theme of this two week project. First, I made a series of sketches which were followed by dry point prints.

Mirrors, drips and a magnifying glass.....

I used two pieces of glass to create a
triangle shape so the sides would reflect each other. I them started dripping nail varnish down the sides, its thick texture was perfect for achieving the slow dripping appearance.
I layered different colours one on top of another. The colours mixed and blended creating an effect that I was very pleased with.
 I added four colours altogether.

Drips complete.....now its time to add the magnifying glass....

Movement of ....Fluids? !? Yes, that's right I have decided to change my theme slightly....

I was working with fluids a lot in order to describe the movement of  time. These experimentation's have made me interested in studying the movement of fluids further for the remaining weeks before the assessment! Here are some photos of my first experiment........

You will need.... a glass of water, oil, water-colour paint and a spoon...

I mixed the oil with the paint and used a syringe to drop the mixture into the water....

At first the water didn't mix full with the water.... I kept trying and it started turning into small beads as it fell into the water, I will post the video once I have tried to edit it.

Video of the blob experiment :P

New Dripping Blobs Experimentation

I made a mixture of water, flour and water colour paint. I poured this fluid into two separate bags. I suspended these bags above a white cotton material, made a small hole in the bags and recorded the fluid flowing onto the material.

The set up.......

And the result......
